Types of hotels

The hotels are classified according to:

1. The levels of service provided, and
2. The types of owners of the hotel.

1. According to the levels of service provided,hotels can be classified into three types.they are:

• Economy hotels: The hotels which provide basic necessity of the guest like food, bedroom, bathroom facilities are under economy hotels.These are comparatively cheapest hotels in the hotel establishments.
• Mid ranged hotels: The hotels which provide more services than economy hotels are under the mid ranged hotels.Extra services include telephone facilities,well bathroom and bedroom amenities,outlets like coffee shops,restaurants etc.
• World class hotels: Every five star and above hotels are grouped under world class hotels.These hotels provide excellent service and the cost is also maximum according to the service.

2. According to the types of owners of the hotel,it can be classified into two types:

• Chain hotels: The hotels which have groups worldwide are called chain hotels.These hotels are managed internationally with the same levels of service worldwide.
• Independent hotels: The hotels with a single owner and managed by only one person or firm are grouped under Independent hotels.
